To celebrate the release of this debut young adult novel by local author Jennifer Caloyeras, we'll be hosting a launch party!

Urban FalconIn Urban Falcon, Evan Falcon was all set to finish high school in Elbow Creek when his dad’s job forces the family to move to Lincoln Heights, a booming metropolis. Now, his best friend won’t even talk to him and he suspects his mom is having an affair. Caught between who he used to be and the possibility of who he could become, Evan is thrown into a world of dating, out of control parties and family drama.

Jennifer Caloyeras is a writer and college instructor at Kaplan University. She was a finalist in both Glimmer Train's November 2007 Short Story Award for New Writers and the 2008 Rofihe Awards as well as an honorable mention in the New Millennium Writings competition in 2008. She has a BA in Literature from U.C. Santa Cruz, an MA in English from Cal State Los Angeles and she is currently completing her MFA in creative writing through the University of British Columbia's optional residency program. She lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband, Basil and two sons, Peter and Phoenix.
